Nightmare before Christmas as fire and water damage family home
In an afternoon in the run up to Christmas, the five bedroomed house with its high-end furnishings experienced a fire due to faulty electrical lights.
The fire in an upstairs bedroom caused smoke and subsequent water damage throughout, which amounted a claim in excess of £300k.
The Qlaims adjuster arrived on-site within hours of notification and managed the emergency actions including sourcing appropriate accommodation for the residents, their elderly and fragile relative who was residing with them, and six dogs. He then ensured that the forensic visit by insurers, surveyor’s assessment, strip out assessment, and drying schedule were all in place before Christmas.
